Database and data management
Several databases could co-exist on the same PC or network. If installed on the same computer, they may share the same IP address and port, but must use different names.
In any case, an instance of MySQL, MongoDB or MS Sql server application must be installed on a database server that is connected to the remote computers where the BioloMICS (client application) is installed
There are no limitations on the number of databases.
Possible databases are: a MySQL, MongoDB or MS Sql.
The schema below shows an example of a typical organization of the BioloMICS database system. Of course the number and the name of the tables are variable and are decided by the administrator of the database.
The schema below shows the relationships between the Windows desktop version, the database layer and the Internet version of BioloMICS.
Data can be accessed from both the desktop and website at the same time. Changes made using one of the two versions will be directly visible from the other one.
