Rights at table level

Only administrators and super-administrators can assign rights at table level.
 
  • To change the Group's rights on a given table, click on File to go to the backstage section, select Database and click Edit tables of the current database.
     
     
  • Select the table from the Tables of current database list.
     
    To search for a table, enter the name in the text box on top of the list of tables.
     
  • In the Properties section on the right, check the Read, Write, Delete and/or Change header rights for each group.
     
  • Privileges tab shows the rights on existing records in the selected table.
     
  • New record wizard a wizard will be opened when adding a new record to the table using this table view. Fields can be selected in the Table view settings, to make them mandatory when creating a new record. See also Mandatory field wizard.

  • Summary field when a link field in the main table has a record pointing to its child table (*), by default the name field of the record in the child table is visible from the main table. It is however possible to show another field (instead of the name field) in the link field of the main table.
    (*) child table = the table which is linked to the main table. For example when the main table has an Nlink field, then the child table is the sequences table.
     
  • Is online enables or disables a given table from the online identification.
     
  • Copy privileges to automatically copy the tables privileges into the new record privileges.
     
  • New records rights tab shows the rights given to each newly created record in that table.

     
  • Administrators tab shows which user(s) are able to change the rights on the selected table.

 
4. Click Save to keep the changes and to close the Table settings window.
 
 
Note that it is at the table level to change the rights to change the headers of the records of a given table. The headers fields are the following: Name, Owner, Details, Read, Write, Delete and Change header rights fields and Used for Web Identification field (used to allow records to be included in polyphasic online/Internet based identification scenarios).
